JAC BE NIMBLE COTONS
Hank
Livestock Guardian
Believed to be nearly 16 years old, Hank passed away. Guardian of my grandparents and their horses turned retirement mode for my nigerian dwarf goats. Hank would help my grandpa off the ground after a fall, by getting low and bracing himself so my grandpa could put his arms on Hank's back and Hank would help raise him up so he could stand. Hank would clear a path and lead each of my grandparents into the house from their car in the driveway when it snowed. They would hold on to his back to keep steady and he would forge a path for them. When they were no longer able to care for him at the farm I gave him a new duty and herd to watch (he refused to become an indoor dog). It was an easy chore, very little to guard from, but he enjoyed keeping watch over does giving birth and the babies that followed. A dog and man goes together like peanut butter and jelly, God knows what He is doing, I have no doubts of that.
